ABOUT
Lena Vida (also known as Mária Magdolna Vida) is a Hungarian-Norwegian artist based in Oslo, Norway. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art, design and art mediation from OsloMet, and a master’s degree in film an literature from the University of Oslo - in addition to another bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Károli University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
In Budapest, Vida studied drawing, illustration, and painting in the atelier of Hungarian graphic artist Lili Rontó for six years. In Denmark, she studied painting in the atelier of Russian painter Alexander Thieme, former painter to the Queen of Denmark. She currently works as an Assistant Professor of Art and Digital Development at the Department of Art, Design and Drama at the Oslo Metropolitan University.
She works with portrait painting, analog photography, sound and sensory art and the production of custom-made cameras. As an art mediator and teacher, she works towards diversity and inclusion of people with various backgrounds and stories.
